If your camcorder is not listed please do not email us asking if it can be done. These unlisted models will be hardware locked and therefore cannot be DV enabled.

RESTRICTIONS:
PC7, This camcorder does not have a LANC plug. You need the LANC/Microphone adapter VMC-LM7 (available from SONY)
TRV130e can only be enabled at our office via the dv in service

Questions and Answers

How complicated is DVin enabling?
Actually this is very easy:

Under Win 95/98/ME/2000 and XP

1. Using the supplied cable connect your camcorder to your PC and power on camcorder. Run the program supplied on the floppy disk. There is no need to install the software to your hard drive.
2. Press the "Identify" button, the software will identify Your camcorder.
3. Press the "Enable DV-IN" or "Disable DV-IN" button, according to what you want to do. Wait until the software has finished (this takes 1 to 3 minutes depending on Your camcorder Model)

Please note: once the camcorder is DV-IN enabled it may be used on any editing system as long as the editing card supports the camcorder e.g. Apple Imac.

Can I enable recording of analogue video ?
This is only possible on the Digital8 camcorders. To record analogue video you need to turn on your camcorder in Player mode and connect the analogue video to the terminals normally used for playback. On some Digital8 models you may AVin to DVout Pass through (AV>DV Real-time Converter) by turning on the feature in the menu.

Do I have to enable DV-IN whenever I want to record a digital video ?
No. Your camcorder "remembers" that dvin has been enabled, even when you turn off power.

Can I disable DV-IN later?
Yes. Lremote makes this as easy as enabling.

What System do I need to use Lremote?
You need a PC with a 486 or faster processor running Windows 95/98SE/ME/XP or 2000. Unfortunately many notebook PCs do have a slightly incompatible parallel printer port chip and can not be used with Lremote. Lremote will not work in a Windows NT, Linux,... DOS Box or on a Macintosh.
